OptiFin does not require an account. Financial information you enter into a calculator is processed locally in your browser to produce a result; it is not submitted to OptiFin or stored in a calculator-results database. We use GoatCounter, a cookieless analytics service, to count page visits (see section 5); it never receives calculator inputs or results.
Your browser does connect to the website to load its pages and assets. The hosting environment may process ordinary technical request information (such as an IP address) to deliver and protect the site. Do not enter information you would not want processed by your browser or network provider.
If you choose to contact us, your email app handles the message you send; the website does not submit contact-form data to an OptiFin server. Likewise, calendar reminder files are created in your browser and saved directly to your device.

The website is delivered over the internet; connections may use transport encryption where supported by the site host and your browser. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
We do not sell calculator inputs or results. Because calculator inputs are processed locally and not submitted to us, we do not share those inputs with third parties. The website host may process technical request information to deliver and secure the site, and GoatCounter processes the page-visit information described in section 5. If you choose to donate through our Ko-fi page, Ko-fi and its payment providers process your payment and any details you give them under Ko-fi's privacy policy; OptiFin receives only what Ko-fi shares with page owners (such as your name or message, if provided). We may disclose information if required by law.
OptiFin uses GoatCounter (goatcounter.com), a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how many people visit and which pages are used. When you open a page, your browser sends GoatCounter the page path (for example, /401k) and page title, the referring site, any campaign parameters in the address, your browser and operating system, screen size, and a country derived from your IP address. OptiFin's calculators never place your inputs in the page address or title. GoatCounter does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not track you across other websites. We only see aggregate counts; we cannot identify individual visitors.
Calculator inputs and results are never sent to GoatCounter or collected for analytics or benchmarking. Any benchmark figures displayed on the site are illustrative reference values, not statistics collected from OptiFin users. You can block the GoatCounter script (gc.zgo.at) with a content blocker without affecting how the calculators work.
Since OptiFin does not require accounts and does not receive calculator inputs, there is no account or stored calculator history for us to provide, correct, or delete. You can clear browser data using your browser settings. For other privacy questions, contact us:
OptiFin does not use cookies for accounts, authentication, advertising, or analytics; GoatCounter counts visits without cookies. Your browser or the website host may use essential technical mechanisms needed to deliver the site. If you switch between light and dark mode, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage on your device and is never sent to us. You can manage browser storage and cookie settings in your browser.
